Susie Berlin
An AWWEE member since 2018, Susie Berlin values the organization’s mission and the dynamic women who make up its membership. She currently serves on AWWEE’s Virtual Events Planning Team, helping shape engaging online programming for members across the network (including this month's Path to Power panel). While she appreciates the variety of webinars and events AWWEE offers, her favorite experiences are the conference and in-person gatherings which create space to connect and build lasting relationships.
Susie is the Founder of the Law Offices of Susie Berlin, where she focuses on energy policy and regulatory matters. Energy insecurity and affordability are issues she cares deeply about. She is currently working on amendments to the cap-and-invest regulation to help ensure utility ratepayers receive the maximum possible benefits from the program and to mitigate rising energy costs in California. Although her work involves extensive reading and meetings, she finds it rewarding to collaborate on resolving complex issues and developing thoughtful policies that advance shared objectives.
Beyond her professional work, Susie is deeply committed to Parkinson’s disease awareness and advocacy, a cause close to her heart. She participates in educational and fundraising efforts and serves on the Michael J. Fox Foundation legislative advocacy team, advancing policies that support research and patients.
Outside of work, Susie finds joy in her garden, tending flowers with her dogs nearby and spending time with her adult children. She also enjoys camping, hiking with friends and family, and dreaming of a sunny beach with a good book in hand.
