Karen Villaseñor
Since joining AWWEE in 2024, Karen Villaseñor has come to value the supportive and welcoming community AWWEE provides. She appreciates the balance of learning-focused webinars and meaningful networking opportunities and especially enjoys how AWWEE makes networking feel easy, accessible, and genuine. Karen also volunteers on AWWEE’s Virtual Events Planning Team, helping bring engaging online programming to members across the community. She will also be moderating an AWWEE panel discussion later this month, continuing her commitment to creating spaces for connection and professional growth.
Karen is a Programs Analyst at Clean Energy Alliance (CEA), where she is currently helping develop CEA’s energy programs plan. She describes her work as dynamic and multifaceted, supporting a small but mighty team that wears many hats across programs, key accounts, outreach, and customer support. What Karen enjoys most is helping implement initiatives that create tangible, positive impact in the local communities CEA serves and contribute to a stronger, more sustainable energy future.
Outside of work, Karen enjoys crafting, watching movies or television, and diving into her latest mystery or thriller. She recently finished Pretty Girls by Karin Slaughter, which she described as a good read, though very dark. Karen is also part of an audiobook club with her cousins, where they have been exploring the mystery and thriller genre together.
Karen draws her greatest inspiration from her mom, whom she describes as strong, resilient, and always kind. Her mother’s guidance and unwavering support have meant the world to her and continue to shape how Karen shows up in both her life and her work.
