NANCY DOUGLAS

As a volunteer on AWWEE’s Events & Programs Committee in 2024, Nancy Douglas was a tremendous help in planning the 2024 AWWEE Conference.  Nancy was introduced to AWWEE by Amy Rowland, an AWWEE Board member and CEO of Pangea Biological.  Nancy told us that she is a "huge Amy fan girl."  For Nancy, the best part of being an AWWEE member is being part of a welcoming community where everyone is interested in helping each other achieve their best.  One of Nancy's fondest AWWEE memories is attending the Strauss Wind Farm tour in Lompoc, where she enjoyed carpooling and connecting with two other members, having thoughtful conversations about nuclear power.

Professionally, Nancy is the Director of Customer Success for Wildnote Inc., a small all-women group.  Her role involves managing product features, technical documentation, and training programs to empower customers to efficiently document field data and generate compliance reports.  She finds her job rewarding due to the positive impact on their customers and the industry.  Recently, she was encouraged by the CEO to integrate Artificial Intelligence into their platform, a challenge she describes as both exciting and terrifying.

When asked about a woman who inspires her, Nancy spoke of her Auntie Toots, who at 93, still hikes daily, rides her bike, and does Pilates. Auntie Toots embodies kindness, humor, and resilience - something we can all strive for!

In her free time, Nancy is an avid reader, often reading multiple novels at once.  Nancy also enjoys cooking for family and friends, especially trying new recipes.  Nancy’s favorite places in San Luis Obispo include Avila Dog Beach, hiking Cerro San Luis, grabbing coffee at Linnaea's, or enjoying a drink at Koberl At Blue bar. Fun fact: Nancy is a certified handwriting analyst and can learn a lot about a person from a handwritten note.
