MAILE GARDNER
Maile was originally introduced to AWWEE while working at the California ISO. She has been an active AWWEE member since 2017 and has attended more than 35 events in that time. She has also been involved as an event planning volunteer over the years. When asked what her favorite thing about AWWEE is, she said that she loves how welcoming and inclusive the AWWEE community is. She enjoys being an ambassador for AWWEE when new individuals show interest; sharing her story of how she came to love the AWWEE community. Maile also noted that she appreciates how she can connect with fellow members of the energy industry at AWWEE events and have open conversations she otherwise might not be able to have in an office setting.
In her free time, Maile enjoys spending time in the outdoors with her husband and two kids - whether gardening in the backyard, hanging out with their pet chickens, hiking trails along the American River, or foraging for wild mushrooms on the California Coast, Maile and her family are always outside and up to something enriching!
On top of her contributions as an AWWEE past volunteer and participation as a member, her family and her creative hobbies, Maile recently completed her Master of Science in Organizational Leadership (MSOL). We admire and appreciate Maile, and we are proud of her as a member of the AWWEE community!
