ALLISON LOPEZ
Allison Lopez, is Energy Efficiency Senior Program Analyst at Ava Community Energy where she is part of a team focused on designing innovative energy and electrification programs that benefit the customers in their service territory.
Allison has been an AWWEE member since 2022 and has attended over 30 events in that time. We are also grateful to have had Allison as the Bay Area regional team leader. Allison tells us her favorite thing about being part of the AWWEE community is the opportunity to connect with women her age in the energy industry at events.
We asked Allison what woman has inspired her most in her career and she gave a big shout out to one of our favorite members, too – Heidi Sanborn. Allison says, “Her presence alone speaks volumes. She is so accomplished and truly walks the talk with environmental stewardship. She was such a great mentor to me when I was figuring out what direction I wanted to take early in my career and gave me the opportunity to work alongside her for her nonprofit. I owe a lot of where I’m at to Heidi!”
Although now living in Oakland, Allison is originally from Santa Rosa. When she is visiting her family there, she enjoys biking around the countryside to visit the off the beaten path establishments, like some great family-run vineyards/wineries. What most don’t know is that Allison has climbed some of the world’s best-rated rock climbs, including Yosemite National Park, Red Rocks, and even Mexico. When she’s not on land, she loves adventuring in water, like scuba diving and cave diving. Allison also enjoys group workout classes, cooking dinners, and sewing.
