JOANNE GLASS

Joanne Glass discovered AWWEE in 2021 through a virtual event shared by a colleague—and she’s been all in ever since! Joanne is now an active member of our virtual events volunteer team and played a key role in organizing our upcoming webinar, "Identifying and Leveraging Your Strengths: Gallup Strengths Finder Workshop". Joanne is passionate about both AWWEE’s virtual events and in-person events and loves the supportive community of women who uplift and inspire each other. A standout moment for her was meeting the AI panelists at last year’s conference.

Professionally, Joanne is a Senior Administrative Assistant at Southern California Edison, where she champions tools like Microsoft Copilot to boost team efficiency. Joanne shared,

“AI, especially Copilot, helps me streamline tasks like summarizing emails, drafting documents, and analyzing data. This frees up my time to focus on strategic activities and volunteer for various initiatives, making my work more efficient and impactful. I love sharing knowledge and seeing others put it into practice. Helping colleagues become more efficient and successful by providing them with the right tools is incredibly rewarding.”

Outside of work, Joanne has a bold creative side—she’s a huge cosplay fan (dressing up as the Hulk at Comic-Con was a personal favorite!), a passionate Clippers supporter who loves leading chants at games, and an AI enthusiast who enjoys experimenting with creative AI projects like generating images, videos, and even short films. Fun fact: Joanne helped create an AI-generated song for the AWWEE conference last year! When asked who inspires her the most, Joanne didn’t hesitate: her mom. Her mother’s journey to the U.S. to provide a better life for their family continues to be Joanne’s greatest source of inspiration. From her, Joanne learned to embrace what makes her unique and to share her positivity and light with the world.
