Join AWWEE's Bay Area Team for the 2026 Creek to Bay Day Cleanup at Lake Merritt and make a meaningful impact in your community!
This annual Creek to Bay Dayevent is hosted by the California Coastal Commission, Oakland Public Works' Environmental Stewardship Team, and the Lake Merritt Institute. Volunteers will help remove litter from the Lake Merritt shoreline, preventing trash from reaching the San Francisco Bay and the ocean while supporting a cleaner, healthier environment.
This is a family friendly volunteer opportunity, and participants of all ages are welcome to join. No experience is necessary, and all cleanup supplies will be provided by the Lake Merritt Institute. Simply bring your enthusiasm, wear comfortable clothing and closed toe shoes, and be ready to make a difference alongside fellow AWWEE members and volunteers.
After the cleanup, AWWEE will host an optional networking gathering at Los Cantaros Taqueria (336 Grand Ave., Oakland). Join us to connect with fellow attendees, continue the conversation, and enjoy refreshments together.
We hope you'll join us for a morning of environmental stewardship, community service, and networking!

Registration is free and open to active AWWEE members and non-members.
