A Conversation with Jennifer Persike: Non-Profit Leader, Entrepreneur, Coach, and Author

Jennifer Persike is a woman of many talents.  After retiring from a nearly 30-year long career at the Association of California Water Agencies, she swiftly moved into the Executive Director role at Leadership California, a contract position she held for 2 years while building her private consulting firm, JP & Company.  When she’s not running her business supporting public water agencies, non-profits, associations, and other businesses with innovative management, and strategic planning and communications, she’s devoted to advancing the missions of non-profits for causes that are near to her heart.  Jennifer is currently on the Boards of AWWEE, the Water Education Foundation, the American Red Cross, HerGen Foundation, and is leading the formation of the ACWA Foundation as Vice Chair. In addition, Jennifer is a Marshall Goldsmith Stakeholder Centered certified Coach, and she just earned her Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion – HR Certificate from Cornell University.

With her wide range of experience, it is not hard to believe that Jennifer has a contact list that goes on for days.  What is really impressive though, is Jennifer’s ability to make authentic connections with the people she meets, and she credits this skill with enriching her career and personal life.  Most recently, Jennifer added the title of Published Author to her resume, when she collaborated with 23 other professionals on the newly released book, The Joy of Work – How Loving Your Work Changes Your Life.  Jennifer’s chapter is, not surprisingly, titled, “Let’s Connect! How Making Connections Changes Everything.” Available on Amazon.

Join us for this hour-long conversation with Jennifer to hear about her experience transitioning from non-profit executive to small business owner, her advice for getting involved with mission-driven organizations, how to make authentic connections and how to tap into your network while maintaining your integrity, and what it was like to break out of her comfort zone to not only write about her experience but to have it published (and reach #1 on Amazon’s Business category).
