LINDA VO

We are thrilled to introduce our newest Sacramento event planning team leader, Linda Vo.  Linda is currently the Senior Program Manager at the California Water Efficiency Partnership (CalWEP), a small nonprofit organization. In her role, Linda wears many different hats - she manages various programs; assists with events; tracks what’s going on in the legislative and regulatory spaces; and collaborates with various agencies, organizations, and companies to help the state of California maximize urban water conservation and efficiency. She told us, “It’s a fun job, and typically, no two days are alike. Sometimes I'm in the office, and other times, I’m out somewhere in California running a training, helping host an event, or attending a conference.”

Earlier this year, Linda was accepted into the Water Environment Federation’s Water Leadership Institute, a competitive program for emerging leaders in the water industry. It includes workshops, webinars, and research projects to foster leadership skills and promote industry collaboration. She is grateful for this opportunity to learn and contribute to the field, as there were over 200 applicants!

Linda has been an AWWEE member since early 2021. She believes the best part about being an AWWEE member is having access to a friendly and supportive network of women who are working in the water, energy, environment, and sustainability fields. She was also a participant in our mentoring program, The Exchange. She shared that she still stays in touch with her previous mentor and said, “I absolutely love her and feel very lucky to have been paired with her. Thank you, AWWEE!”

In her spare time, Linda loves being in nature and going on hikes near sources of water, singing and dancing at concerts, and visiting museums. Her favorite place in the Sacramento region is the American River, where she enjoys taking a leisurely stroll.

We asked Linda to name a woman who inspires her.  She said: “My mom inspires me. Years ago, she left Vietnam and immigrated to the USA to seek a better life. Since then, she has been working odd jobs to take care of our family. She also cooks the most delicious food that I can never replicate. Seeing the sacrifices that my mom has made and the life she leads motivates me to be the best version of myself. My mom is also kind and compassionate. Those are admirable traits, and I aim to be like her in my personal life and career.”
