JEN-ANN LEE
Jen-Ann Lee has recently accepted a new position as Deputy General Counsel at the California State Transportation Agency. Congratulations, Jen-Ann! She will assist the General Counsel in supporting and carrying out the goals of the Legislative and Executive Branch as it applies to the transportation agencies in California, which include CalTrans, the DMV, and California Highway Patrol.
In her prior role, Jen-Ann worked as an attorney at Braun Blaising & Wynne P.C. since 2021, where she played a key role supporting public agencies in the energy sector. Her work included tracking more than sixty regulatory proceedings across the California Public Utilities Commission, California ISO, and California Energy Commission, and helping community choice aggregators (CCAs) and publicly owned utilities like SMUD stay in compliance with complex state, local, and federal regulations. A skilled communicator, Jen-Ann thrives in translating dense regulatory language into practical counsel tailored to each client's needs.
Jen-Ann draws inspiration from Amanda Nguyen, a fellow Vietnamese American woman and trailblazer whose achievements across advocacy, policy, and space exploration reflect the power of purpose and perseverance.
A proud AWWEE member since 2019, Jen-Ann describes the organization as one of her favorites. She especially cherishes her experience at the 2024 AWWEE Conference and the mentorship program. One standout moment was attending the Brunch & Learn on water-wise gardening with her mom — a chance to bond and learn alongside fellow green thumbs.
Jen-Ann recently celebrated a personal milestone: her wedding and a honeymoon adventure across Vietnam, Korea, and Japan. Congratulations, Jen-Ann!
Outside of work, she’s also on a personal mission to visit all 50 U.S. state capitals (currently at 20!). Jen-Ann enjoys volunteering at the Museum of Science and Curiosity, playing video games, discovering new restaurants, and spending time with friends, family, and her dog, Junie.
