Hilary Haskell

AWWEE is thrilled to spotlight Hilary Haskell, whose nearly eight years with AWWEE reflect a wonderful commitment to leadership, learning, and giving back to the community.

Hilary first became involved with AWWEE in 2018, early in her career, and quickly stepped into leadership as the San Diego Regional Team Lead. Since then, she has continued to find ways to contribute, volunteering with the Events and Programs Board Committee, the Bay Area Regional Team, and currently, AWWEE’s Virtual Events Planning Team. She has also participated in The Exchange mentoring program as both a mentor and a mentee. What Hilary values most about AWWEE is the way it brings people and perspectives together across the water, energy and environmental sectors. She appreciates the opportunity to learn from others while gaining a deeper understanding of how these fields intersect.

Professionally, Hilary is Manager, Low Carbon Fuels at TRC, a member of WSP, where she manages low carbon and clean fuel program services for a portfolio of clients. Her work supports programs that reduce the lifecycle emissions intensity of transportation fuels, improve air quality, and reduce the transportation sector’s impact on climate change.

For Hilary, one of the most rewarding parts of her work is seeing measurable reductions in transportation-related greenhouse gas emissions and know that her work helped make those reductions possible. Her role brings together skills she has developed throughout her career, including project management, data analysis, renewable energy, greenhouse gas emissions reporting, and environmental regulations.

Her passion for the environment began long before her professional career. In high school, Hilary founded and led an environmental club that encouraged students to take part in sustainability projects on campus and volunteer in their community. That early commitment to service has continued to shape both her career and the ways she gives back today.

Outside of work, Hilary is an avid runner who races everything from 5Ks to marathons. She loves that running gives her an opportunity to spend time outdoors while supporting causes she cares about. And, as a San Diego resident, she also enjoys spending time at San Diego’s many beautiful beaches.

We are grateful for the leadership, energy, and generosity Hilary continues to bring to the AWWEE community. Thank you, Hilary, for being part of what makes AWWEE such a special community!
