Sustaining the American River: A Tour of Nimbus Fish Hatchery

  • Nimbus Fish Hatchery 2001 Nimbus Road Gold River, CA, 95670 United States (map)

O-fish-ally splash into the New Year with AWWEE on a guided visit to the Nimbus Fish Hatchery!

The event will begin with coffee and informal networking during the first half hour, giving attendees a chance to connect with fellow AWWEE members before the tour begins.

Following networking, participants will enjoy a behind-the-scenes look at how the Nimbus Fish Hatchery supports the health of the American River ecosystem by raising and releasing fish to sustain local fisheries. Attendees will learn about the life cycle of hatchery-raised fish, the Hatchery’s role in regional water and environmental management, and ongoing efforts to protect native species. Depending on the season and conditions, guests may even have the opportunity to see Steelhead Trout up close.

This educational outing is a great chance to connect with fellow AWWEE members, deepen your understanding of fisheries and water stewardship, and kick off the year with an engaging, hands-on learning experience.

Registration is free for active AWWEE members who may add one adult guest (new to AWWEE please).
