Tour of the New Mission Rock Development: Sustainability, Energy-Efficiency, and Sea-Level Rise Adaptation along the S.F. Waterfront

Join fellow AWWEE members for this unique in-person tour with an optional networking happy hour to follow!

Mission Rock is a major development project located in San Francisco, transforming a 28-acre waterfront area adjacent to Oracle Park, the Giants' stadium, into a vibrant mixed-use neighborhood. The development plans include residential buildings, commercial spaces, parks, retail areas, and entertainment venues.

Mission Rock is envisioned as a pedestrian-friendly community that integrates with the surrounding neighborhood and provides public access to the waterfront. The project emphasizes sustainability and resilience, incorporating green spaces, energy-efficient buildings, and measures to address sea-level rise.

Safety Requirements:

The tour will be one hour. Be sure to wear comfortable closed-toe shoes and weather-appropriate attire (comfortable clothing, hats and sunscreen) should be worn because the tour is outdoors. Also, please be sure to bring a water bottle as it will be hot outside.

Optional Happy Hour:

Following the walking tour, the group plans on meeting at The Ramp Restaurant for a networking happy hour from about 4:30-5:30 pm PDT. We would love for everyone to join us, but we understand of you are not able to come due to other obligations.

Registration

Registration is free for active AWWEE members. Space is limited, so this event is open to active AWWEE members only to start. We may open any available spaces to non-members and guests closer to the event date.
