Coastal Roots Farm is a nonprofit community farm and education center in Encinitas, California that practices organic farming, shares their harvest with those who lack access, delivers unique farm-based education, and fosters inclusive spaces for people of all ages and backgrounds to come together to catalyze a healthier, more vibrant community and a more sustainable future for the region. Coastal Roots Farm prioritizes building soil organic matter to sequester carbon and diverting waste, creating their own compost and preventing methane from entering the atmosphere.
Following the walking tour, those interested can gather at the farm for an optional picnic lunch until about noon. Coastal Roots also has a pay-what-you-can farm stand that will open at that time.
