Our Speakers

Genivieve Rasmussen | Associate Deputy State Director, Resources | California Bureau of Land Management

Genivieve Rasmussen has worked for the Bureau of Land Management for over 37 years in four states. She is currently the Associate Deputy State Director for the Division of Resources in the California State Office. In that role, she also oversees the Branch of Physical and Sustainable Resources.

She obtained both her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Natural Resource Management with an emphasis in Range Management from the University of Nevada Reno. She resides in the Sacramento region with her husband, David.  Both of her sons live in Oregon with their partners and she has one adorable granddaughter. 

Jessica Gallimore | State Fuels Specialist | California Bureau of Land Management

Jessica Gallimore has worked in Federal Fire Management for over 24 years in three states. She is currently works for California BLM as the State Supervisory Fuels Specialist.  In her role she oversees BLM's statewide programs for Fuels, Mitigation-Education, and Trespass.  Jessica been the CA BLM State Fuels Management Specialist since April of 2022.  Prior to working for California, Jessica worked for many years in Oregon in as a District and field level fuels practitioner.  Before moving into fuels, she worked as a wildland firefighter for the USFS.  Over the years, she detailed as the California BLM fuels program manager, Eastern States BLM fuels program manager, and USFS Region 6 fuels program manager assistant. 

Jessica received her B.A. in Environmental Studies and Forestry from Warren Wilson College in Swannanoa, NC.  Jessica currently resides outside Eugene, OR with her husband and son.  They try to balance their time between work, gardening, critters, and keeping up with their property.
