May Salon: Getting Warmer Episode 4: The Last Resorts

In 18th century France, salons were gatherings, usually hosted by women, where people came together to discuss literature, politics, philosophy, or current events.

In AWWEE's salon events, we come together via Zoom to discuss a topic.  There will be no formal agenda or presentation during our gatherings.  The event is an opportunity to share our experiences and reactions, hear each other's perspectives, and discuss ideas, so we leave the event with a deeper understanding than we started with.

For this salon event, we’ll be discussing the episode 4 (The Last Resorts) of the Bloomberg TV show, Getting Warmer. In this episode of Getting Warmer, Kal Penn explores some of the more drastic Plan Bs aimed at fighting global warming or protecting populations from climate extremes. These include supercharging the oceans’ ability to soak up CO2 and even managed retreat. (Source: Bloomberg) Watch the episode here.
