The Many Benefits of Honey Bees with Sola Bee Farms + Honey Tasting

Did you know that three out of four crops around the globe that produce fruits or seeds for human use as food depend, at least in part, on pollinators?

Pollination is vital to life on our planet.  Bees ensure food security and nutrition, and maintain biodiversity and vibrant ecosystems for plants, animals, and humans.  In this webinar, we’ll learn from Sola Bee Farms about the important role honeybees play in an ecosystem.  They’ll also discuss how they cultivate and nurture honey bee hives, and how they put the bees to work to support farmers to increase crop yields and biodiversity of their land.

For the second part of this event, we’ll be treated to a guided tasting of three Sola Bee Farms honey varietals. The deadline to purchase the honey set to be delivered before the event has passed. If you live in Northern California, Sola Bee is sold in several local markets. You are welcome to join for the event whether you have purchased the honey or not.

Black Button Sage: This super mild, buttery honey is great for anything you’d like to add a subtle sweetness to: from plain yogurt, to baking, and herbal teas. This honey will sweeten your dish without overpowering the more subtle flavors you’re working with. Unlike any other honey, Black Button Sage Honey is sought after for its natural ability to resist crystallization for long periods of time.

Wine Country Wildflower: The strongest of our three wildflower honey varietals, Wine Country Wildflower doubles down on the cinnamon spiciness that can be found in the other two varietals. We’ve taken to using it as a syrup replacement when we have pancakes on Sunday mornings, but it goes great with anything you’d like impart with a stronger honey flavor and a hint of cinnamon.

Yellow Star Thistle: Light, crisp and full of flavor, Yellow Star Thistle honey pairs well with light goat cheeses or Greek yogurt, and it’s great for use in coffee, as it will add just a hint of sweetness.

Sola Bee Farms promises to provide products to our customers in a sustainable, honey bee friendly way. We believe in promoting small businesses and family agriculture in Northern California. We pledge to always offer raw, pure honey and reuse all possible elements of the hive. We are committed to innovative beekeeping. We strive to educate the public on the importance of honeybees in our food production and about vital pollination practices. Sola Bee Farms is devoted to green business practices and healthy honeybees.

Sola Bee Farm’s sustainably harvests our local honey from our regionally located beehives during different honey producing seasons. All of our beehives are located in small groups on honeybee friendly Northern California farms and ranches. We rely on the stewardship of local wineries, ranchers and landowners who allow us to keep our honeybee hives on their diverse landscapes.

Our unique honey varietals are harvested during different seasons from their respective locations. This ensures our floral varietals are true to their unique nectar sources and locally sourced. We carefully and sustainably extract each honey varietal in small batches, only taking the excess honey from each hive. We are strong believers in healthy beekeeping practices, and honeybee health is our top priority. Our sustainably harvested honey is then packaged with recycled materials including post-consumer paper, recycled glass and soy ink labels.

Sola Bee honey is raw, 100% pure and contains no additives.  Our honey is unpasteurized and all natural, in order to maintain the integrity of honey and to preserve the pollens and proteins found in raw honey. Sola Bee honey delivers the natural pollens and beneficial elements of the hive directly to you.

There is no registration fee to participate in this event.

Please remember that there is a $30 cost to purchase the honey tasting set directly from Sola Bee Farms.
