Energy Resiliency 101

Natural disasters, equipment malfunctions, increased demand, and human error can threaten the reliability of the large, centralized power grid upon which most of us rely.  As power outages have become more common, maintaining a reliable supply of energy during a power failure has become increasingly important, particularly for critical infrastructure.

In this one-hour webinar, we'll gain a basic understanding of energy resiliency, including:

  • What is energy resiliency and why we need it

  • What is critical infrastructure

  • Components of a microgrid

  • Important considerations

  • Planning process

Allison Bially is Director of Business Development and provides program management for AESC. As part of the strategic growth team, Ms. Bially uses her years of experience in efficiency program management to support company expansion initiatives and to cultivate excellent client, vendor and partner relationships. In addition, Ms. Bially leads AESC’s role as Program Administration Manager for two of California’s statewide Institutional Partnership Programs, California Department of Corrections (CDCR) and the State of California (SOC), in which she helps implement energy projects in state-owned facilities throughout California.

Ms. Bially holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Rochester and a Master’s degree from New York University. Allison previously served as the leader for AWWEE’s San Diego regional team and we’re delighted that she continues to volunteer on the team today.

Prior to joining AESC, Ms. Bially designed and ran third-party energy efficiency programs in California, including the EnergySmart Jobs (ESJ) Program, an $18.8 million venture supported by the California Energy Commission (CEC)/American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). This program provided free energy audits throughout California for grocery and convenience stores, along with select direct install and retrofit measures.
