June 14, 2017 – Sacramento
CalFire Tour – 2014 King Fire

This is a member-only event with limited seats available.

The King Fire started in the afternoon on September 13, 2014 in El Dorado County near Pollock Pines.  Before full containment was reached on October 9, the fire burned nearly 100,000 acres, including 12 single residences and 68 other minor structures.

The Sacramento Regional Leadership Team invites AWWEE members to take advantage of this unique opportunity for an on-the-ground tour of the King Fire location.  Join us to hear directly from CalFire about the conditions that contribute to the devastation from forest fires like the King Fire, forest fire behavior and environmental impacts.
